[users] Is there an easy way to temporarily disable a slow mirror?

Wrong list for that, but try to put 

127.0.0.2 mirror.cpsc.ucalgary.ca

into your /etc/hosts.

After that clear timedhosts.txt out of /var/cache/yum and try again.
